Accessible information - Support Grant

The UK Government introduced the Public Service Vehicles (Accessible Information) Regulations 2023 (the Accessible Information Regulations), which took effect on 1 October 2023. The Regulations require operators to equip vehicles, so information is provided about a local bus or coach service to passengers travelling on board them in both audible and visible formats. To support smaller operators in complying with the regulations, the UK government launched the Bus Operator Accessible Information Regulation Support Grant which opened for applications on 1 January 2025. The grant is available for small bus operators in Scotland with 20 vehicles or less. This grant is for the procurement and installation of products to provide audible and visible information onboard the vehicle, and/or for purposes of maintenance for a period of one year from the installation of the products. Where an operator has a partially compliant vehicle a grant application can be made for the remaining equipment to make the vehicle fully compliant.
