1. This is the definition of "school pupil" casualty used in the road collision statistics returns.

2. Casualties aged 0 to 15, inclusive (the standard definition of "child" for the purpose of road collision statistics). Therefore, these figures do not include any 16 year old casualties who were identified as being pupils on a journey to or from school.

so there is a slight inconsistency between the numerator and the denominator used to calculate the percentages.

Note: Information on pupils injured on their way to/from school is no longer collected and this table will be dropped from future editions of this publication.
