The A86 Trunk Road (Kingussie) (Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2025
The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of imposing a temporary 30mph speed restriction on that length of the A86 Spean Bridge - Kingussie Trunk Road at Kingussie from a point 70 metres or thereby east of the centre line of its junction with the U2751 The Glebe in a generally north easterly direction for a distance of 342 metres or thereby.
The Order, which is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public, will be in operation from 25th March 2025 until 29th October 2025 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations, or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.
Alternative routes
An alternative route for traffic is not required.

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility
The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights.
“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, the A86 Trunk Road (Kingussie) (Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2025 is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
